Hair of the Dog

My practice has always started with materials. I see them not merely as passive resources but as living carriers of meaning, emotion, and hidden histories. This project, working with discarded dog hair, began as a practical experiment in sustainability. I try to speak loud through these trivial waste materials from pet grooming salons.

The final pieces—wearable forms woven from the dog’s hair—are extensions of the relationship between human and animal. They hold the scent of the dog, the memory of its presence, even as they rest on the human body. In these pieces, I ask the viewer to consider: How do we wear another being’s story? When does care become control? What is the cost of transforming a living presence into a wearable object?
